Sydney Airport hotels with a shuttle: what's confirmed and what isn't
Most Sydney Airport hotels rely on a shuttle, but the price, hours and booking rules vary. Here is what we know hotel by hotel, and what to ask before you book.
Most hotels near Sydney Airport rely on a shuttle to reach at least one terminal, but the price, the hours and the way you book it vary a lot, and several details are not confirmed. This guide sets out what we know, hotel by hotel, and what to ask before you book.
The details come from the airport's own pages, hotel announcements, listings and reviews. Where sources disagree we say so. Shuttle prices and times change, so confirm them with the hotel.
Two different shuttles
Do not mix up the hotel shuttles below with the airport's own Terminal Transfer Bus. That is a free service between T1 and the domestic terminals, not a hotel service. It runs about every 15 minutes, roughly 05:30 to 22:30, and takes about 10 minutes. It boards on the arrivals level outside Arrival Hall B at T1 and outside each domestic terminal.
Hotels with the clearest shuttle details
- ibis budget Sydney Airport: a shuttle to T1, T2 and T3 from 05:00 to 23:00, according to the airport. It does not say whether the shuttle is free, so ask.
- Moxy Sydney Airport: the hotel announced a complimentary shuttle in January 2025, running about every 20 minutes to the domestic terminal from 04:45 and to the international terminal from 05:00, until 22:50. It also stops at Mascot station. You book a time slot through a link sent after you reserve. A tourism listing says charges apply, so confirm the current terms.
- Novotel Sydney International Airport: a paid shuttle. Sources differ on the price ($10 to $12 a person each way) and the first departure (04:30 or 05:00), and agree it runs until about 23:00.
Paid shuttles, as reported
- Pullman Sydney Airport: about $7 a person to all terminals, according to one review.
- Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport: about $6 a person to both terminals, according to one guide.
- Holiday Inn Express Sydney Airport: a paid shuttle on request, about $12 a person each way in a July 2026 report.
- Quest Mascot: a paid return shuttle on request, with a surcharge.
- Meriton Suites Sydney Airport: a paid shuttle to the International and Domestic terminals, booked through Guest Services.
- Meriton Suites Mascot Central: a return shuttle is included in a "Park, Sleep and Fly" package. Check other rates.
- Travelodge Hotel Sydney Airport: sources conflict. One page advertises a free transfer when you book on the hotel's own site, while the hotel's FAQ recommends a separate shuttle at about $10 a person each way.
Shuttle listed, details not confirmed
- Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport: the hotel says it runs a shuttle to the domestic and international terminals. The price and hours are not confirmed. In my own stay I found it easy to get into the domestic terminal, with shuttle buses and taxis available.
- ibis Sydney Airport, Adina Apartment Hotel and Citadines Connect: a shuttle is listed, but we could not confirm the price or the hours.
Hotels where you may not need one
Rydges is 181 steps from the T1 check-in counters and Aerotel is inside the international terminal. Mantra is a few minutes' walk from T2 and T3. For these, the shuttle question mostly disappears, unless you fly from the other side of the airport.
Questions to ask before you book
- Is the shuttle free or paid, and is the price per person or per trip?
- What are the first and last departures, and do they match your flight?
- Do you have to book a time slot?
- Which terminals does it serve?
- What happens if your flight is delayed and you arrive after the last run?
Ask the hotel to confirm the answers by email, so you have them in writing. To compare rooms, check Moxy on Booking.com or use the button below.
