Mantra Sydney Airport: what my stays have been like

I have stayed at Mantra Sydney Airport and found it perfect for business travel. Here is what I liked, the walk to T2 and T3, and what I could not confirm.

Exterior of the Mantra Sydney Airport hotel

I have stayed at Mantra Sydney Airport and found it perfect, especially for business travel. If you want an easy walk to T2 or T3 before a flight, it is a good choice. This is what my stays have been like, and what I could not confirm.

Where it is

The hotel is on Ross Smith Avenue in Mascot. The airport's own page puts it a few minutes' walk from T2 and T3, and about a five-minute drive from the International terminal. In my experience it is the closest hotel to the domestic terminals.

What my stays have been like

  • The rooms. Clean, fresh and modern in feel.
  • The noise. The rooms are quiet.
  • The walk. Easy to T2 or T3 before a flight. If you would rather not walk, getting to the terminals is very easy.
  • Overall. An all-round good hotel.

Eating

The hotel has a good restaurant serving standard food, and McDonald's is close by. There are plenty of other options if you walk over to the T2 and T3 terminals.

The compromise

Sources differ on the walk. The airport says a few minutes, one listing says about nine, and the hotel's website says about 10. A 2017 review by The AU Review, written in the hotel's first week open when the reviewer was a guest of Mantra Group, put it at 10 to 15 minutes. Our own walking times table puts it at 9 to 10 minutes, about 750 m, so allow 10 to 15 minutes with luggage.

T1 is a different story. For the International terminal you need a car, a taxi or the free Terminal Transfer Bus from the domestic terminals.

Common questions

Is there a shuttle from Mantra Sydney Airport to the terminals?

The hotel's website describes a shuttle run by a third-party operator, with extra charges, serving both the International and domestic terminals about every 40 minutes. A booking site lists AUD 12 a person one way, and listings disagree on the hours, so confirm the schedule with the hotel. Our hotel page names Sydney Super Shuttle as the operator.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

The hotel's website lists check-in from 2pm and check-out at 10am, with 24-hour reception. It also says the hotel does not accept cash, so bring a card.

Does Mantra Sydney Airport have parking?

The hotel's website lists on-site parking at $35 overnight, subject to availability. A booking site also lists electric vehicle charging. Check availability when you book.

Is breakfast included?

The hotel's website says breakfast is available for a surcharge, with a buffet from 6am to 9.30am on weekdays and 7am to 10am on weekends.

The notes under "What my stays have been like" are from my own visits. Everything else comes from the airport's page, the hotel's website, listings and the 2017 review above, checked on 21 October 2026, so check it with the hotel before you book.
